The brand new futuristic Sony DSC-W350 digital camera is out with bundles of new features and applications.

Its 14.1 megapixel resolution produces top quality images that remain sharp and detailed, even when blown up for printing or screen viewing. Loaded with a 4x zoom range lens with optical zoom, this devise will magnify your distant subjects for crystal clear close-ups and has a 26mm wide angle capacity for extra wide panoramic shots.

The powerful, in-built BIONZ processor ensures fast responsive shooting and yet produces clear, detailed, minimum-noise images. View the output on a wide superior 2.7″ LCD screen with 230k dot. The screen displays flawless, high contrast results for your viewing pleasure. And it doesn’t stop there. The screen is built with a 720p High Definition movie system for crisp, clear, detailed video clips that can be view at 30 frames per second, while listening through a superior stereo sound system.

Press the shutter to enable Sweep Panorama. This process combines several images to produce wide panoramic pictures. This happens automatically, leaving you with the simple job of just taking the shot. The other convenient process happens at Self-portrait mode. Holding the camera at arms length, you can take properly-framed photos of your lovely self. Once you’ve struck that perfect facial pose, the shutter goes off automatically. No more embarrassing photos.

The double Anti-blur feature uses highly sensitivity ISO 3,200 to eliminate the chances of blurry photos due to subject movement. Increasing the camera’s ISO setting accelerates the shutter speed to capture moving objects in clear, blur-free mode. In case the camera shakes during hand-held images, the sophisticated sensors that make up the Optical Image Stabilizers adjusts the lens to the right light angle. This eliminates the blur-effect that results in camera movement.

The Smart camera uses Intelligent Auto to automatically adjust exposure and other settings for perfect results in various shooting instances.

Other unbelievable automatic features are the Face Detection and Smile Shutter. Face Detection adjusts focus, exposure and white balance for amazingly clear portraits. In automatic Smile Detection, the shutter goes off immediately the subject smiles! Quite handy for capturing happy memories. In cases of extremely contrasting settings and backlit portraits, the D-Range optimizer adjusts the contrast for wonderful, natural results.

The camera comes complete with a HD output port for linking it with a High Definition TV. Good for large screen viewing. The picture quality remains high due to the high megapixel count. An optional output cable is however mandatory as the camera doesn’t have wireless capability. The images can be viewed in a systematic sequence with the HD Slideshow, which applies both on LCD and HD TV.

It was quite thoughtful of the makers of this camera to consider beginners within the consumer bracket. That’s why they fitted in The Easy Shooting mode that combines simple controls with easily understandable commands. The Sony DSC-W350 enables direct image uploads into a PC through its PMB transfer software. This is good for computer storage, editing and sharing on suitable websites. Alternatively, editing could be done independently in the camera. This is because the In-Camera Retouching function corrects the usual image errors such as red eye, blunt mask and poor contrast, for picture-perfect results.
